Swedish massage is regarded as the most common form of massage. It involves a combination of five basic strokes and concentrates on the muscles and connective tissues of the body for improved circulation, relaxation, pain relief and overall health maintenance.
Swedish massage uses soft strokes on the delicate and bony structures in the body and stronger stokes over thickly muscled areas. Softer strokes would typically be used in the face, hands and feet while stronger strokes are used on areas that retain stress such as the neck and shoulders.
