Trigger Point Therapy  is done in conjunction with other massage modalities such as Swedish.  Trigger points are hypersensitive areas of muscle fascia, tendons and ligaments that refer pain to distal areas of the body.  They can be a result of stress and tension as well as other factors.

Trigger Point Therapy seeks to identify trigger points, then steady pressure is applied to release them.  This is usually followed by massage to the surrounding areas to help treat the cause of the trigger point.  When receiving Trigger Point Massage a person should feel better even though pain may be felt during the release portion of the massage.  The massage after the Trigger Point work will help relax and soothe these areas.
